This was V4’s final Operation in Vietnam where, on the 25th March 1970
the Coy deployed from Luscombe Field into AO Auckland by RAAF Carabou aircraft.

FSPB Pat was still in operation and the Coy landed in a makeshift adjacent airfield.

For the next 4 weeks the Coy covered many 1000s’ of kms
on foot along dusty trails with little success.

On the 17th April 3 Platoon had a contact with the Viet Cong
which resulted in Stan Kidd being Killed in Action.

The entire 6 RAR Bn were withdrawn on the 23rd April.

V4 were extracted by APC in a memorable, hot and dusty final journey
back to Nui Dat complete with a captured enemy flag.
